Kihon (Basics) 

A selection of bojutsu and other buki basics

Kata (Sequence) 

Perform the kata’s from the previous grades and also:

Shirotaro No Kon Dai

Kishaba No Sai Dai

Three nunchakujutsu kata of candidate’s choice

Three kamajutsu kata of candidate’s choice

Three tonfajutsu kata of candidate’s choice

Kumibo (Paired Drills) 

Each candidate must improve and demonstrate the six kumibo they devised for their Nidan examination

Our Belt testing is judged on three criteria:

Kihon – literally meaning ‘basics’. This is the practice of our basic Kobudo movements.

Kata – a pre-set sequence of movements and techniques.

Kumibo – is the drills using the bo that are done with a partner.
