We were delighted to host the 9th Kanzen Cup International Open on Saturday 30th September 2023 at the Regional Performance Centre in Dundee. This event brought together federations from eight countries including Italy, Romania, Denmark, Slovakia, India, England, Ireland, and Scotland.
With almost 500 athletes and 1088 starts, the Kanzen Cup is now the biggest annual accessible Karate competition in Scotland. We were pleased to welcome officials including Essam Shreif, Pete Priest and Mandy McNulty of the WUKF Referee Commission and Dr Columba McLaughlin from the WUKF Disciplinary and Anti-Doping Commission.
We believe that sport should be open to all without barriers and restrictive practice; the 9th Kanzen Cup is the perfect representation of this. Thanks to our hardworking team of volunteers and officials who delivered the event.
The 10th Kanzen Cup will be held in the City of Dundee on Saturday 28th September.
