WUKF World Championships – Monterrey, Mexico – 11th to 14th July 2024
Congratulations to the Kanzen Karate Scotland Athletes who competed at the 2024 WUKF (World Union of Karate-Do Federations) World Championships in Monterrey, Mexico, over Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th July 2024.
Represented by seven athletes and two coaches, the team performed exceptionally well over four days of competition, placing 8th on the medal table out of 24 federations from across the world.
We achieved 7 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals and 4 Bronze Medals – returning Four Individual WUKF World Champions, Two WUKF Team World Champions and One WUKF Grand Slam Kata & Kumite Champion.
Our athletes prepared exceptionally hard for the event working extensively with the Dr John Babraj (Senior Sports Science Lecturer at Abertay University) and the Abertay Sport Science Team to ensure they were equipped physically for optimal performance.
